Why small business owners shouldn't shy away from technology

Small to medium-sized business owners might not have the same resources as large corporations to allocate funds to technological innovations. However, this does not mean that these organizations need to completely avoid everything from bring-your-own-device strategies to the internet itself.

With comprehensive technology insurance, entrepreneurs can implement new systems without having to worry about the aftermath of a potential data breach. Recent research shows that some owners are hesitant to implement new technology, but strong coverage can help in any type of recovery process that might occur.

Online marketing firm Yodle surveyed over 300 small business owners across the nation to see how these entrepreneurs felt about technology in their daily operations. Results showed that just 40 percent use it for appointment booking and scheduling while only one-third (34 percent) use technology for customer relationship management.

Furthermore, few companies are taking advantage of the internet. Nearly half of the organizations surveyed said they don't have a website, and a whopping 90 percent do not have a site that is optimized for mobile use.

Even so, the study also showed that overall, these owners are happy in what they are doing, with 90 percent reporting this fact.

"Small business owners aren't without their worries, however," explained a Fox News contribution piece. "Finding new customers, affording health care and other employee benefits, and keeping current customers are their top three professional concerns."

With concerns like these already in place, entrepreneurs don't need any additional worries. Finding the right technology insurance with the assistance from commercial insurance specialists, owners can remain current without becoming bogged down with extra uncertainties.
